Inside Line Promotions – PERRIS, Calif. (April 4, 2019) – Dominic Scelzi’s run toward the King of the West-NARC Fujitsu Series championship begins this weekend.

Scelzi will be behind the wheel of a Roth Motorsports entry on Saturday when the team invades Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield, Calif., for the season opener. He finished third there last year during his debut at the track.

“We had a good run last year so I’m excited to get back there,” he said. “I know that Dennis and Teresa Roth, Todd Ventura and everyone at Roth Motorsports is going to give me a great opportunity to contend this season so hopefully we can get it started on the right foot this Saturday.”

Scelzi wrapped up the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series spring swing through California last weekend. He opened the action on Friday at Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford by qualifying 31st quickest before a rally from eighth to fourth place in a heat race locked him into the main event. Scelzi closed the night by finishing 15 th in the A Main.

The weekend concluded on Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway during the SoCal Showdown. Scelzi timed in 24thquickest in qualifying. He again rallied in the heat race, powering from eighth to fifth place to garner a starting spot into the main event. However, he exited the race early after being caught up in an incident.

“Qualifying is so critical so we were behind the eight ball from the start of each night last weekend,” he said. “Our heat races went well both nights so that’s a positive we can take out of the weekend, but overall it was a weekend you put behind you and move onto the next opportunity.”
