Inside Line Promotions – FRESNO, Calif. (May 23, 2016) – Dominic Scelzi is about to embark upon one of his biggest dreams, which is to chase races across the Midwest and in the East throughout the summer.

Scelzi and his Roth Motorsports backed team will leave on Wednesday to head east to spend the next three months on the road. Scelzi is scheduled to stay on the road, tackling events with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series, Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions and National Sprint League, through the 56th annual 5-Hour Energy Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Store at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, Aug. 10-13.

20160523-scelzi-set-summer-midwest-east-beginning-weekend“I’m extremely excited and so thankful to be able to do this,” he said. “I want to learn and be up to speed with the All Stars and the Outlaws with all these new tracks. I’m excited to go to Knoxville and Eldora and race at so many tracks and events that I’ve dreamed of since I was a kid. As a driver my goal is to make as many main events, if not all of them, as I can. I’d love to pick off a win in the Midwest. That’d be a huge accomplishment.”

The competition begins this Saturday at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., with the MOWA Series.

“I’ve seen a lot of videos of that track and I honestly don’t know what to expect,” he said. “It looks like a small place that’s so high banked and fast. It’s unlike anything I’ve seen before. I’ve been talking to Danny Lasoski and some other guys about maybe some tricks I can learn before I go there. It’s a good wake-up call and a good way to start our summer.”

Scelzi will then venture to Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Ind., next Monday to race with the World of Outlaws.

“There isn’t any place I’ve been to that looks like that track,” he said. “As a driver I have to go in there and adapt quickly. Hopefully I can get ahold of the race track and get comfortable in hot laps to throw down a good qualifying time.”

Scelzi has competed outside the West Coast only twice. He made his debut driving for George and Danny Lasoski last October when he placed eighth and third, respectively, with the National Sprint League at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb. Scelzi also competed for the Lasoski’s during the Bad Boy Buggies World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C., in November.

Scelzi was scheduled to race last Saturday at Stockton Dirt Track in Stockton, Calif., with the King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series, but the Salute to LeRoy VanConett event was rained out.
